Japan’s Asahi Kasei Chemicals (Tokyo) has decided to construct a plant in Nantong, China for polycarbonatediol (PCD), an intermediate used in high-performance polyurethanes (PUR). The 3,000-tonnes/yr plant will start up in early 2015 and be operated by local affiliate Asahi Kasei Performance Chemicals Corp.
