Medical device coating technology that is designed to enhance communication at the interface between human tissue and electrodes has been introduced by Biotectix (Ann Arbor, MI), a supplier of proprietary conducting polymers. Amplicoat reportedly overcomes the limitations of other conductive coatings in medical applications by offering improved durability, processability, and performance. The coating is available for license and commercialization on medical devices; other applications are currently under development. Single-use medical device manufacturer Vygon buys enteral nutrition company

A manufacturer of single-use medical devices, Vygon (Ecouen, France) has announced the acquisition of Medwin, a company based in southwest France that is specialized in enteral nutrition pumps and related accessories. The purchase will allow Vygon to expand its portfolio of enteral nutrition products. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
