Bespak, a business unit of Consort Medical plc (Hemel Hempstead, UK), has picked up a multi-year contract to mold and assemble its DEV610 dry powder inhaler as a proprietary product for an undisclosed pharmaceutical company. Bespak will have to build a dedicated facility at its location in King’s Lynn, UK, to meet the projected production—the drug-device combination has been dubbed a potential blockbuster product by some—and several hundred jobs will be created over the next few years.
