Auto industry watcher IHS Automotive (Southfield, MI)forecasts global automotive sales for 2015 to reach 88.6 million vehicles, an increase of 2.4 percent over 2014, continuing an unbroken five-year run of sales recovery and growth from the low point set in the depth of the recession in 2009. Orbis opens its first manufacturing facility in Mexico

Reusable packaging provider Orbis Corp. has opened its newest manufacturing facility, in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico, which is 390 km/250 miles northwest of Mexico City. The 265,000-sq-ft plant employs approximately 140 people and enables Orbis to be more responsive with a growing customer base in Latin America. The new plant is also the first Orbis facility to offer injection and structural foam molding, as well as dunnage fabrication, all under one roof. Contract medical manufacturer Phase 2 joins Tijuana’s growing medical cluster

The medical cluster in Tijuana, Mexico, continues to expand. Phase 2 Medical Manufacturing, headquartered in Rochester, NH, has announced the opening of a 30,000-sq-ft facility dedicated to contract manufacturing for medical device OEMs in the sprawling city across the border from San Diego, CA.
