Forecasting growth of 25% this year in medical sales, Sil-Pro (Delano, MN) recently expanded cleanroom molding capacity and is already planning a new cleanroom with additional equipment. The current growth is coming in thermoplastic injection molding for Sil-Pro, which was launched in 1998 as a silicone molding specialist and now has 20 LIM machines. Plastic bag ban blamed for increase in retail theft

All Sites First it was an increase in E. coli caused by reusable cloth or non-woven bags after plastic bags were banned in San Francisco. Now, we learn that in Seattle the bag ban in that city, instituted in 2012, is being blamed for a big increase in retail theft.     read more

PolyOne, a plastics supplier with $3 billion in sales last year, is boosting its focus on the medical market, and one specific target is replacement of polycarbonate alloys with PVC in housings for medical devices.
