Freudenberg Medical has more than doubled silicone extrusion capabilities at its facility in Carpinteria, CA, as part of the expansion and enhancement of extrusion and molding cleanrooms at the company’s silicone operations. In addition to increased floor space, the cleanroom now features an updated layout and optimized work cells to accommodate future growth and state-of-the-art cleanroom infrastructure technology, according to Freudenberg. IK survey: German plastic packaging industry confident in 2016 outlook

Despite rising material costs, the German plastic packaging industry is looking ahead with confidence for 2016, according to a new survey from plastics trade group, Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen (IK; Bad Homburg, Germany). The economic forecast for the first quarter of 2016 shows that 70% of member companies expect a positive outlook. A year ago at this time, this was not the case where the figure was at a dismal 37%.
