K 2013: Water spray may boost viability of gas injection process

Düsseldorf — A new technology on display at K 2013 starting tomorrow uses an aerosol type jetting process to create hollow parts. Water is sprayed inside the part during gas injection, reducing foaming. The technology was developed by the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University and licensed to PME fluidtec GmbH (Ettenheim, Germany).
