Polyaryletherketone (PAEK) Victrex (Thornton Cleveleys, UK) has commissioned the first production stream of its third PAEK manufacturing plant as it focuses on offering even greater security of supply to customers, as well as delivering complete solutions. The capacity increase is part of an expansion program valued at $138 million. The new facility for the manufacture of PAEK went into operation in the north-west of the UK during April. Bayer MaterialScience (NMS; Leverkusen) is planning to increase its production capacities in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu India to meet continued growth in demand for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)  elastomers. With the addition of a second TPU production line, the annual capacity of Cuddalore site will increase to 6,000 tonnes from the current 2,500 tonnes.
