Raumedic AG, which developed the first CE certified fully implantable wireless medical product that can measure cranial pressure through the skin, is significantly expanding manufacturing capacity in medical plastics at its headquarters in Bavaria, Germany.   The company is investing €26 million ($32.2 million) in a new building with clean room production and manufacturing facilities as well as laboratory and office spaces. Oxford Performance Materials (OPM), which has been developing polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) as a medical implant plastic, has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its OsteoFab Patient Specific Cranial Device (OPSCD). “OsteoFab” implants are made from PEKK with additive manufacturing technology.
