Medbio adds Arburg molding machine for medical, biotech

Medbio (Grand Rapids, MI), a contract manufacturer specializing in injection molded components and assembly for the medical and biotech industry, recently purchased its fourth Arburg swivel clamp machine.  It is a 28-ton hydraulic molding machine that can be configured in a wide range of working positions.  “These machines give us the flexibility to run a variety of molded parts, from over molding and insert molding with a vertical clamp position to automatic molding with a horizontal clamp position” said Ryan Heidenfeld, Medbio’s process engineering manager.  Tagging Options Domain:  All Sites Keywords:  injection molding Medbio read more

Jabil Circuit Inc. (JBL), a contract manufacturer best known for its work in the electronics field, is making a major move in plastics and the medical field with the acquisition of Nypro Inc. for $665 million. Jabil (St. Petersburg, FL) announced the deal this morning. It is expected to be completed by the end of May.
