Chinese company Greenpak has installed a seven-layer Evolution blown film line from Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion, establishing the company as the first producer of barrier film in the greater Shanghai area.  Since the line came on stream, Greenpak has been producing symmetric and asymmetric barrier films for end products in the growing food and packaging industries, especially for those who are new to this market. Sealed Air has developed a new Cryovac LT-1 shrink sleeve label, calling it one of the first in the industry with a density lower than the 1g/cu cm polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling standard. The labels are composed of a multi-layer polymer-based film to provide 360-degree, form-fitting bottle coverage.
