Ecover to open its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Chicago

Ecover has decided to plant its U.S. manufacturing roots in the Windy City. The Belgium-based ecological cleaning brand recently announced that it will build a flagship manufacturing facility in the Pullman Park neighborhood on Chicago’s south side. The new space, which will bring about 100 manufacturing jobs to Chicago, comes after a long effort to bring the company’s first U.S manufacturing facility to Illinois. read more

The developing Asia-Pacific region will account for 62% of overall growth in global automobile production between 2012 and 2017 according to the latest data from PwC Autofacts (New York, NY). The region, including key markets China and India, will contribute 62.0% of gains in vehicle assembly  over the period whereas developed Asia, which includes major auto producers Japan and South Korea, will see its output decline by 3.5%. Expertise in the compounding of engineering plastics and a proprietary process for polymerizing polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin free of chlorine and sodium are the backdrop of a new joint venture between Teijin Chemicals Ltd. (Tokyo) and SK Chemicals (Seoul, South Korea) to manufacture and market PPS resins and compounds in July this year.
